What to do in Callantsoog?

Callantsoog is one of the oldest and most beautiful seaside resorts in the country with a very pleasant center. You will find many cozy shops, terraces and restaurants in Callantsoog. In 2014, the village square underwent a face lift. Most shops in Callantsoog are open on Sundays year round, ensuring there is a cozy atmosphere throughout the year.  High dunes separate the village from the wonderful beach.

Callantsoog beach

The Blue Flag has been flying on the beach for many years, a recognition from the European Union for clean and safe beaches. Callantsoog beach has five beach pavilions: De Stern, Vos, the Toko, the Strandtent and Zilte Zucht. There is also beach restaurant WOEST. All locations are open from April through October. Beach pavilion Vos and beach restaurant WOEST are open year round, so you can warm up with a cup of steaming chocolate milk after a brisk walk on the beach. In the summer, the beautiful white beach waits invitingly for the many visitors. In addition, events are regularly organized in Callantsoog.

Callantsoog nudist beach

There is an area for naturists as well. Just south of Callantsoog is the first official naturist beach in the Netherlands. The location of the center is unique. Just walk up and down the dune from the beach and you will arrive in the middle of the vibrant center.  The Tante Jaantje museum farm can be found in the center. It can be visited from May through September. And will you arrive by car? You can park your car free of charge in the public parking spaces!

Swan water

Just to the south in the dunes, you will find this unique nature reserve with all kinds of beautiful hiking trails. The flora and fauna are invaluable and unique in the Netherlands. Very rare plants can be found here. Two dune lakes are a source of food for the many birds that find a breeding ground here.

Would you like a little more entertainment during your holiday? Then Callantsoog really is the right place for you!
