Nearby nature reserve 't Zwanenwater is heaven for those who love beautiful walks: cormorants, orchids, butterflies and mushrooms. 

The cozy town of Schagen is eight kilometers away.  For groceries, visit Albert Heijn in the vibrant coastal village of Callantsoog (10 km).
